Artists and Orphans: A True Drama is a short documentary that follows a group of New York actors and dancers as they attempt to aid a makeshift orphanage in the Republic of Georgia. The artists work against the clock to prepare the children and their bombed-out residence for the upcoming winter.

The film traveled to numerous film festivals, including the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic and the Florida Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Short Film. The film won the Audience Choice Award for Documentaries at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and the Inspiration Award for Best Documentary at the Lake Arrowhead International Film Festival, among other awards. Artists and Orphans subsequently earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Short Subject at the 74th Academy Awards in 2002.
